Water is an essential element for life, it is not just important for human being but for all facets of life. Therefore its wastage should be avoided. In many households water use is not supervised. In cities it is not at all monitored while in rural areas well water is used, but if wasted more drilling for water will be needed. Average amount of water may never decreases on the face of earth but water if clean is misused then it is being wasted. We being humans have the brains to use and to care for the nature and so should control its usage.

A natural way to conserve water for areas where annual rain rate is good is by saving up the rain water. Fill up the buckets when it rains, or for some houses which have gutter system on their roof top they can link it to a tank reservoir. The water will be saved there and rain water can be used for household purposes and for washing clothes. Be sure to chlorinate it to avoid any bacteria to reside in it, and if the rain water is acidic add sodium bicarbonate also know as baking soda to neutralise acidity because if this is not done clothes color will fade away and households may be ruined by acidic rain water.

In areas where rain is not frequent visitor, essentially fix any leaks there are. If you are willing to take the initiation for the conservation of water then for a beginner start with sorter shower periods. Long hot showers can be very relaxing but since more than 22 percent of household water is consumed by the shower. Put water conservation spigot to reduce its consumption while taking shower. Turn the taps off while brushing so the water is not wasted. Avoid washing hair every day it will not only save water but also be good for you hair health, if there is an everyday need to wash your hair then it would be a good time for changing your hair style. Use the dishwasher once a day when it is full. Same with the washing machine run it only when it is fully loaded it will save the time and water. Minimize flushing i.e. flush only when you feel the necessity. You can use small flushes that is less volume of water with more pressure flow all the faeces.

After you have successfully attained the beginner’s level then get ready to be introduced to the intermediate level of water consumption. If you are too enthusiastic about going green then you will have to invest some money and will surely save some money later on to water saving. Use the water used for had washing to flush the toilet by linking a pipe from sink to the toilet seat. Install water controller in showers to save up water and use carwashes which are waterless. Let’s just stick to the intermediate level because a final level will make it really harsh.
